The 2022 Michael Hall Sang De Pigeon Pinot Noir is a testament to the favorable weather conditions that shaped its exceptional character. The fair winter rains and a cool summer contributed to the cultivation of a robust and high-quality grape crop. Harvested by hand in the late March and early April timeframe from select vineyards in Lenswood, Piccadilly, and Balhannah, the grapes underwent fermentation in open fermenters and closed puncheons, with 15% of the clusters retained as whole bunches. Following this meticulous process, the wine matured gracefully for 11 months in French oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and structure. Notably, this Pinot Noir is unfined, allowing the pure expression of the fruit and terroir to shine through in each sip, promising a distinctive and refined wine.
