Chateau du Cray Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise 2021

In 2016, the Goichot family took over this grand Domaine, which was owned by the Perret du Cray family since 1798. Château du Cray has a 22-ha wine Domaine, north of Buxy in Saône-et-Loire. The vines stretch around the castle, which is located in the middle of a hillside, and have a very fortunate east-to-south-east exposure.

The vines grow in clay-limestone, but predominantly clay soils, characteristic of the Côte Chalonnaise. By taking charge of the Domine, the Goichot family is embarking on the winegrowing, winemaking, and aging methods that have presided over the notoriety of Château de Cray for over two centuries.

Founded in 1947 near Meursault, Maison André Goichot is one of the most renowned negociant in Burgundy. Implanted in Beaune since 2000, as one of the last family companies, the story of the House continues with the 3rd generation. Owner of Château de la Guiche since 1979 in Montagny, the estate grows in 2015 through Domaine Les Guignottes with 10 hectares of Montagny, Montagny 1er Cru, and Santenay.
