Yangarra GSM
The Yangarra vineyards in Blewitt Springs boast ancient geology, high altitude, and a Mediterranean climate, ideal for cultivating the finest grape varieties of the southern Rhône. Their GSM blend, inspired by tradition comprises Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvèdre, sourced from both young and old bush vines. Each variety is handled separately, with 50% whole berries retained during destemming and selective sorting. Fermentation occurs with wild yeast, followed by maturation in a variety of vessels for 11 months. This GSM blend reflects the unique terroir of Yangarra, with grapes sourced from vines planted in 1999 in sandy ironstone soil at an elevation of 175-210m above sea level, on North Maslin Sands, dating back 54 million years.
