Rippon Tinkers Field Pinot Noir 2022

This 2022 Tinker’s Field from Rippon is a masterclass in refined intensity. Sourced from the oldest vines perched on a north-facing schist-gravels slope above Lake Wānaka, it opens with a scented bouquet of wild cherry, blueberry, violet petal and orange peel. On the palate the fruit is vivid yet composed: red kid cherry and damson swirl with a touch of star anise and crushed rock minerality, framed by fine chalky tannins and a spine of fresh acidity. Biodynamically farmed and vegan-friendly, the sense of place is crystal clear—this is Central Otago Pinot at its meticulous best.
