Pernot Pere+Fils Gevrey Chambertin Jeaune Rois 2022

Importers thoughts -  Exceptional density and length in this Jeune Rois.  Taking over the family Domaine in 2018, Pascal Pernot quickly gained respect and admiration as a top Gevrey-Chambertin producer. Pascal’s great grandfather was chauffeur to the Liégard family of the Château de Brochon and subsequently inherited some vineyards (including the holding in La Croix Violette). The Domaine was established in 1900, with Pascal as the fourth generation, and surrounds the village of Brochon with a total of 7 ha.

Critics thoughts - A stony site behind the Château in Brochon. Pascal Pernot has had to pull out some of the oldest vines. Destemmed. A deeper colour. Cherry/raspberry notes with exceptional density and length. The wood supports very well without interfering. The Jeunes Rois has a superb finish, with length breadth and quality of fruit Drink from 2027-2032. 91-94pts, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy.
