Oakridge Hazeldene Chardonnay 2024

Sourced from the north-facing Hazeldene Vineyard in Gladysdale, it has a beautifully pure citrus profile, with lemon, lime and mandarin running through the wine. Green melon and subtle stone fruit add flesh, while a little cashew and creaminess bring extra texture and depth. There’s plenty of tension here too, with bright acidity and a lovely citrus-pith grip keeping everything fresh and focused. Fourteen months on lees in French oak puncheons adds polish rather than weight, so the wine stays energetic and finely detailed. Elegant, mineral and quietly complex, this is a Chardonnay that already drinks beautifully but has plenty more to reveal with time.
