Bicknell FC Applecross Chardonnay 2025

This is Yarra Valley Chardonnay with the volume turned up on precision. Sourced from old P58 vines at St Andrews, it has that lovely combination of concentration, freshness and serious vineyard character. Whole-bunch pressing and a natural ferment in seasoned French oak build texture and subtle oak flavour. White nectarine and lime zest lead into apple blossom, sea spray and a little struck-match complexity. There’s a gentle fleshiness through the middle, but the acidity keeps everything tight, bright and moving. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately blocked, preserving that beautifully nervy line of freshness. Eleven months resting quietly on lees adds texture and detail without softening its edges too much. Long, mineral and wonderfully composed- proper Chardonnay for people who like their Chardonnay with some cut.
