Newest release from Yarra Yering, how lucky we are to receive allocation from their 2020 vintage!
From the original 1969 plantings into block No. 1, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot. Harvested by hand, only the best berries are chosen to go into this wine. Cabernet is crushed individually while Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot ferment in whole bunches. Aged in 40% new French oak for 15 months before bottling.
The cooler 2020 season brings notes of summer berry and lifted, herbal bay leaf. Warm spices and a hint of oak, perfectly balanced with the fruit, acid and tannin. An exciting evolution of the infamous blend.
